Default Lost or Missing Items in History

Post any item that's lost/missing/stolen/etc. through time! Also include a couple of words for the back story. If you have a source, much better..

    Let me start:

The lost spanish galleon San José.

The San José is considered to be one of the richest treasure ships ever lost in the Western Hemisphere. She sank in about 1,000 feet of water on June 8th, 1708. This loss resulted from a battle with an English squadron.
The San José was loaded with eleven million pesos (about 344 tons of gold and silver coins). 116 chests of emeralds, and the personal wealth of the Viceroy of Peru. The estimated Value of the cargo today is more than 1-2 Billion US dollars.

Anyhoo, this one is pretty famous. The Holy Grail.

The Holy Grail is a sacred object figuring in literature and certain Christian traditions, most often identified with the dish, plate, or cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper and is said to possess miraculous powers. There are a lot of rumors where the Holy Grail is; from the Sewers of Jerusalem to The U. S. Bullion Repository(Fort Knox). But nobody really knows where it is, so it's considered missing.

    Anyhoo...The Flexible Glass.

Apparently there was this glass from the time of Roman Emperor Tiberius Caesar(between 14 AD-37 AD), as recounted by Isadore of Seville, "An unnamed craftsman brought a drinking bowl made of flexible glass before emperor who threw it on the floor. Instead of breaking, the material just dented and the craftsman who brought it repaired the dent easily with a small hammer. After he sworn to the emperor that he was the only one who knew how to make it, he was beheaded, fearing the such material could undermine the value of gold and silver."

    Flight 19

Flight 19 was a training flight of five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers that disappeared on December 5, 1945, while over the Atlantic. The squadron's flight plan was scheduled to take them due east from Fort Lauderdale for 141 miles, north for 73 miles, and then back over a final 140-mile leg to complete the exercise. The flight never returned to base.
One of the search and rescue aircraft deployed to look for them, a PBM Mariner with a 13-man crew, also disappeared. A tanker off the coast of Florida reported seeing an explosion and observing a widespread oil slick when fruitlessly searching for survivors. The weather was becoming stormy by the end of the incident.
