With the lengthy delays finally behind us on Intel's Cedar Trail platform and several netbooks having now reached retail using the N2600 Atom core, we're hearing of Intel's plans to roll in another desktop part to co-exist alongside the still scarce D2500 and D2700 Cedar View units.
That chip is the D2550, a minor revision of the D2500 which appears to only differ in its base GPU clock rate of 640MHz versus 400MHz. Its CPU clock rate is still 1.86GHz with the TDP remaining at 10W. All other aspects of the D2500 and D2550 are equal as well, including 512KB of L2 cache on each of the two cores along with Hyper-Threading capabilities.CPU World says that Intel is planning to introduce the Atom D2550 to market sometime next month.
