Default Is Apple working on a 15-inch MacBook Air?

According to recent rumours, Apple will not only offer Ivy Bridge powered 11.6 and 13.3-inch versions of its MacBook Air come the new year, but the company is apparently planning a 15-inch model as well. The question is if the market demand is there, as at least traditionally, Apple's larger notebooks have been quite powerful machines and a slimmed down version won't be able to compete in terms of performance. The details are slim as always when it comes to this type of rumour, but Digitimes appears to be fairly certain that Apple will be offering a 15-inch SKU and it's said to be offered as a competitor to the yet-to-launch large screen Ultrabooks. That said, we might just end up with a slimmed-down version of the MacBook Pro, as the details are anything but clear and are coming from the supply chain that doesn't always have the full picture.Interestingly pilot production of the 11.6 and 13.3-inch models has apparently already started which means that Intel is more or less ready with its ULV models of Ivy Bridge, something we'll bring you more details on shortly. As for the 15-inch version, well, it's not in pilot production, but it's expected to get to that stage shortly and we'll just have to wait and see if it'll be a new Air or a slimmed down Pro.Source: Digitimes

After Steve Jobs passed away, I wondered why they decided to race in terms of processing power. From what I remembered, Apple use to be left behind in the hardware scenario.

lol even with or without steve jobs this company that is thought to be the revolutionary innovation of the computer world is the poorly organized compulsion of ego that steve jobs had. If apple was the remaining computer in the world i will recall myself to the stone age!

this is just my total assessment to what the company means to what it is in my perspective
