USB na PCI card ver. 2.0 performance

Na-a koy Intel Celeron 700MHz using an ABit VL6 mobo. Pang chatting ni sa akong ermats gamit sa YM. The mobo has 2 built-in USB ports running at ver. 1.1.

Question is if I install a USB na PCI card ver. 2.0 sa iyang PCI slot, will I get the true USB ver. 2.0 performance or will it just be at the ver. 1.1 speed ug mura nalang ga add kog additional USB ports? Purpose mu taod ko aning card kay ang webcam iyang gamit kay A4Tech Procam PK-635 ug ver. 2.0 naman ni sya. Very big speed difference pud ang USB ver. 1.1 sa ver. 2.0 mao nang sayang ang speed sa webcam.

Yes. You can use the USB ports  of your card as USB 2.0 on you USB PCI card but your mobo's USB ports 1.1 will still be USB 1.1. :mrgreen:

If you mean mas kusog ba ang broadcasting frames per second if mag usb 2.0 ka, no not really. your broadcasting rate is limited by the application you use it with and next your connection.

usb 1.1 is 1mbps ( correct me if im wrong ) thats more than enough for a webcam =)

bro Earlz, you got point there with the kinda application gi gamit. E tweak nako ang settings sa yahoo messenger ug sa program sa webcam para mas nice ang frame rate e broadcast.

follow up question lang bro. what if Mobile HDD Enclosure 2.0 akong e gamit w/ an IDE na 7200rpm naka taod?

Dba USB 1.1 has a transfer rate of 110kbps while USB 2.0 is 480kbps? Not so sure about this fact.

Im not sure how tweakable the broadcasting rate anang YM, but i guess there are other programs that can do that for you with better speeds.

On the external harddrive question, it can still work but the speed will be extremely slow.. limited to 1mbps ang speed ana.

hmmm.. mas pas2x gyd ang transfer rate sa usb 2.0 kaysa 1.1.. kasuway ko usb 1.1 sauna dugay ayo mahuman og copy gamit og mobile hdd enclosure.. compara sa usb 2.0 mas pas2x gyd..

ako pentium 1 ako gi taudan ana heheh. pang mouse ra hinoon to. pero ok ra man. wala palang hinoon ko naka suway ug mga data transfer via PCI nga USB
