History of M4A1
The M4A1 carbine is a variant of the basic M4 carbine intended for special operations use. The M4A1 can be found in use by many U.S. military units, including the Delta Force, U.S. Navy SEALs, U.S. Army Rangers, and the U.S. Marine Corps' Radio Reconnaissance Platoons and Force Reconnaissance companies. The M4A1 Carbine is specially favored by counter-terrorist and special operations units for close quarters combat because of the carbine's compactness and firepower. These features are also very useful in urban warfare. Although the M4 does not have as great an effective range as the longer M16, many military analysts consider engagement with a non-specialized small arm above a range of 300 meters to be unnecessary. It is effective at ranges of 150 meters or less. It has a maximum effective range of about 400 meters.
Introduction of M4A1
M4A1, one of the great weapon of Soldier Front. M4A1 as many says, is the ideal weapon of choice for those who want to battle in close quarter combat. It is the lightest assault rifle (tied with G36C) among the rifle groups which is favoured by pro assaulter's in rushing. One of its problem is the damage, it ranks second to the last among assault rifles but makes it up with its high rate of firing. Also among the highest recoil just behind AK-74. Well this is one of Soldier Front cheapest weapons but has an average power in both outdoor and indoor battles.
Pros
-One of the lightest weapon.
-The fastest rate of fire.
-Very good in rushing and close combat.
-It only cost SP 22,500. Cheapest among assault rifles.
-Clip size of 30/120 which will last an entire round.
-Strong in mid-range and close range.
Cons
-Average damage about 6/10
-Has a bad recoil system.
-There are more strong rifles.
-Crosshair becomes bigger when fired continuosly.
-Average at long range.
Rushing
Rushing means moving as fast as you can to your designated area. In SF, rushing is mostly used and that it renders your enemy unprepared for your attack. Rushing doesnt mean that you go to the enemy and shoot him alone. Wrong concept of rushing is that when you are rushing alone.
NEVER RUSH ALONE, have a teammate or two follow you. Be sure that when you are already near your area (when you know that an enemy will likely to pop out), use the crouch or walk mode. Move as a unit and support each other. Never throw a grenade when your teammate is about to move into that area. Team kill will lower your honor level and will discourage your teammate thus losing the game. When moving in, check out any hiding spot where an enemy is likely to hide. Also check each others back as their are those that are backstabbing your squad. Stealth and Speed combine is dangerous. So move fast but silently.
The Art of Firing
Spraying is a term used when you hold down your left mouse button as it continuosly fire about 10-20bullets per click. This shot allows you put your opponent down very quick when in close combat. Spraying with your M4A1 upclose usually takes about 7-10 bullets to kill an enemy due to the lack of damage but with your fast firing rate you ensure that your opponent die first. When an enemy pops out near about 5 feet spray him with your gun while moving around him (running or jumping).
When an enemy appears about mid-range, use crouch and burst fire him. Crouching allows you to have a firm grip of your gun creating a minimal change on your crosshair and makes you a harder target. Crouch first before you shoot. With crouching on, use burst fire. Bursting is when you trigger your gun and about 3-5 bullets is fired then regain sight then fire again 3-5 bullets. With bursting you will be able to regain your gun crosshair after shooting three shot then fire again. This takes about 1/4 of a second to regain your sight.
Crouch + Fire
1. Crouch
2. Stop
3. Place the center of the crosshair on their chest. (upperbody)
4. Fire about 3-5 bullets. Burst
5. Regain your sight then fire again or you can move down slowly your sight.
Do this before you shoot. Firing first before you crouch will just make it worst as you will experience the same crosshair when your standing.
Use burst fire when you are backstabbing an enemy and that you fire an enemy at his body as your recoil will go up and you will possibly get an headshot. Single fire is also useful but do not use often. Only single fire when an enemy is very far. Do not spray an enemy that is far as this is inaccurate and will waste your ammo. Remember to reload once you have low bullets. Reload only when under cover. Once mastered, you will be the ideal assaulter.
Suppressing Fire is one of the most rarely used tactic though. You shoot at an enemy while he is taking cover on a wall, box, crates etc.. while your teammate move in and kill him. Very useful when you have a teammate or two. It keeps your enemy down while your teammate move in.
Single Shot with Rapid clicking or Semi-Auto is also being used in SF. It uses the fast tapping of your left mouse button. Which means you fire fast single shot bullet to the enemy. This is also good as the crosshair will not zoom out. This technique usually is done by veterans as they will rapidly shoot single shot on the enemies head to ensure quick death. Very hard to master though but deadly.
Roles
There are two types of role you will be having when using the M4A1. The frontline assaulter and the support/backup type. In being a frontline, you must be adept on using your M4A1. You will be the one that will attack the enemy first and that you ensure your team safe passage. Being a fronliner is difficult as you will need the skills to take on 2-3 opponents at once. With your M4A1 you will be able to kill them fast. Frontliner also means a tanker on your team or what they say the "suicidal gunner". Support or backup are the ones that help the frontliner. In being a support gunner, you must able to help the frontliner in taking down the enemy as fast as possible. The faster you kill, the lesser a teammate will fall. So basically you are not the enemies target but the frontliner. So when attacking the enemies, when the frontliner attacks enemy A and enemy A and B attack him. Immediately takeout enemy B. There are many roles though but remember to be with your teammate or your squad (preferably 2-3 teammates) and not be rambo type. Move as a unit and support each other. As the saying goes, "United we stand, divided we fall".
The Agile M4A1
One thing that a M4A1 reign supreme from assault rifle group is speed. No assault rifle is more faster and lighter than M4A1. With a M4A1, you are just like moving with a submachinegun (somewhat close). With your M4A1, you move your surrounding more faster and gained a ground power. Ground power in the sense that you are able to move from one place to another. Most of the primary weapons are heavier than M4A1. One advantage of the M4A1 is you are able to dodge bullets when jumping due to its light weight mass. You are able to jump farther just like a submachine gun user does. Unlike other weapons when you jump you become slower. Also doing the sliding crouch, it is usually done when running up the corner. When you are almost near the edge of the corner immediately release the move button then push the crouch button. Its somewhat a bit weird though but you gain 2-4 meters of ground by sliding. With speed you attain stealth. You are able to hide nearer to enemy designation position (if you know what I mean) and with that you are able to backstab them thus a kill is given.
Maps using M4A1
Indoor: Hospital, Nerve Gas, Missile and Satellite.
M4A1 greatest advantage. Close quarter combat. Be alert and ready those fingers cause enemies will pop out suddenly. In this maps you will pass to a lot of rooms and corridors so basically this is a lot of searching and surprise attacks usually happen. Some snipers hate this maps though because of small areas. So mostly, you will be dealing with shotguns, submachineguns and assault rifles.
Hospital
The mission is defending (blue) and aquiring (red) DNA testtube.
Nerve Gas
The mission is defending (blue) and aquiring (red) DNA suitcase.
Missile
The mission is to prevent the destruction (blue) and to destroy (red) the missile's mainframe control panel.
Satellite
The mission is to prevent the destruction (blue) and to destroy (red) the satellite's control room or control panel.
Footsteps Hearing
This is a useful tactic in close quarter combat. Hearing footsteps will allow you to futurize if an enemy will appear. This a great way in knowing if there are incoming enemies like doors and coridors. When an enemy is likely to show up. Pop out and suprise him with your fast blitzing bullets. Remember to shoot him at the upperbody with your M4A1.
Running Silent
The tactic that is somewhat weird. You try to crouch then run then crouch the run again. This tactic though is hard and can make you slow but if you mastered it, you will be just running silent and become a deadly assasin.
Outdoor: Train, Desert Camp, Kinabalu, Shanghai and Plasma.
In this maps, you must be taking cover cause here some pro snipers will reign supreme. Activate your 3rd person view to see what is happening. If 3rd POV is off, try to coordinate with your teammate on what is your next move. Running and Jumping here is a must. So watch out for those snipers.
Train
The mission is to prevent the blockage of shipment (blue) and to stop it by destroying the fuel storage and control panel (red) of the train carrying the uranium.
Desert Camp
The mission is to prevent the destruction (blue) and to destroy (red) the new tank that has intense firepower.
Kinabalu
The mission is to aquire the black box and bring it to base (both blue and red).
Shanghai
The mission is to stop them from going (blue) and to escape (red) to the submarine.
Plasma
The mission is to prevent the destruction (blue) and to destroy (red) the plasma transportation vehicle.
Backstabbing
This is quitely use in this maps. The maps are bigger and that you will be able to go around and backstab an enemy. When backstabbing an enemy, ensure that you are not caught and that you fire a burst round at him on the upperbody. With your M4A1, you will ensure that he dies fast, as fast as your bullets.
M4A1 vs Other Weapons
Pistols (Colt45, Beretta M92 and Glock23)
Handguns are no match for assault rifles. So basically, you win over these guys.
Shotguns (Remington M870 and Benelli M1)
Dont go close with these guys as it will blow your brains out. Deadly also and has a 1 shot kill. So try not to get close and just burst fire them while crouching
Submachineguns (MP5 and P90)
These weapons are light and it makes its users agile but lacks the fire power. It makes up with its recoil though. So when your up with these guys try to use the M4A1 sheer power and fire him. Burst him while crouching and he will be dead for sure. Also dont crouch often with these guys, moving while bursting at them will also ensure kills.
Machinegun (MG36)
This has a lot of ammo and very heavy though. Basically, you should take cover but if you can take him out try to hit him at the upperbody.
Assault Rifles (M4A1, M16, G36C, Steyr AUG, AK-74 and K2)
These are the powerhouse of Soldier Front and the frontline weapons. Many users used this so beware. In here, you will need speed to kill these guys. Crouching will help but not often. Sometimes you both die or you die first. When upclose you are no match for an AK-74damage. No match with the accuracy of the M16. Also dont likely underestimate the Steyr AUG and G36C to some of thier advantages. K2s versatility. One thing to do is to train yourself harder with your M4A1. Practice yourself in firing the upperbody. Master it to the fullest and you will able to take on with these guys. Practice does not make you perfect but it will enhance your skill and feel to the game.
Sniper Rifles (PSG-1 and FR-F2)
These are the most dangerous and can kill you at one hit. Never crouch with these guys, as this will just to their scores when your dead. Dealing with these guys is a bit hard. One thing for sure that will help. The ZigZag Run and The BunnyHop. Running straight is welcome death to snipers. So move sideways and jump. This will annoy sniper users and once close enough fire at him. Remember to keep on moving with these guys and also take cover. Also try to sneak behind them.
Equipments
Any character though will be good for M4A1 user. Buying a M4A1, you will have extra amount of money. So buy things that are useful like armors and grenades. Helmet and Body Armor is essential as it gives the user 10 to 15% chance to take less damage when 30 meters or more but the speed drops to .5. Of course it stacks, when you have a helmet and a body armor you will gain a 2.5 loss in speed. It might not be obvious but you will notice it. Balaclava is also useful, it gives the user 1 to 2% special point for killing an opponent.
Grenades
MG7 Grenade is a fragmentation grenade which is a standard issue for both US and Canadian armed forces. It is small and designed to burst into numerous fragments when detonated. This grenade is helpful when there are enemy taking cover or hiding. Simply throw the grenade and they will jump to death. This grenade also can kill your teammate, so be careful.
Flashbang or Stun Grenades emit a blinding burst of light when deployed, accompanied by a deafening sound. They dont damage but are effective at confusing and disorienting enemies. Very useful full when moving inside the building. Throw this grenade to the door or to the window and if there are enemies inside, all they can see is white and when their screen come back they are dead already.
AN-M8 Smoke grenade emits a cloud of white (gray in the game) smoke that can be used for screening or signalling purposes. It covers the view of any snipers when you are trying to run them. This make them hard to hit you and will confuse.
Third Person Point of View
Very useful when it is on. You'll be able to see a widen view of the surrounding. Very useful when an enemy is closing in then pop out to spray him. Taking cover or waiting when an enemy comes out then giving him a suprise attack. It also makes you hidden from your enemies but when you zoom back in, you are staring at the wall, box, crate etc...
-
Surprise Attack
It allow you to attack your enemy while your enemy is searching for you and your teammates. When seeing the enemy coming. Be ready and once he is close enough turn back to your 1st person view and pop out and use spraying or burst fire at him.
-
Surviellance
It allows you to see your surrounding while taking cover or hiding. It gives you the picture on what is happening on your surrounding. Very useful in checking out those snipers from far away. You will just notice those small round objects are their heads and that they are ready to shoot anyone who appears.
-
Weakness of 3rd POV
You see yourself better but you will not be able to target your enemy better. Turning on you 3rd person view while an enemy is firing at you is free kill. You will not be able to accurately target your enemy cause all you can see is the back of your character. So remember to switch back to 1st person view when going to attack someone.
Additional Facts based on real life.
M4A1 vs AK47
The M4A1 compared to AK47 is very different. Based on the test. M4A1 has good accuracy and that it hit the target 4/5 about a distance of 100 meters while when the AK47 only shot 1/5. Meaning the M4A1 has a good accuracy. When fired you will notice that the M4A1 will recoil itself very minimal thus having a good accuracy while the AK47 due to its recoil system, its goes up thus making it to miss the target. Studies also notice that the M4A1 has a low powered system. In the test about 3 meters thick of cememt block. The M4A1 didnt make the block crack but only scratch the surface while the AK47 when fired took the bullet right through the 3 meter thick cememt thus having the massive fire power.
Conclusion.
M4A1 is a great gun. Many players love them. Especially pro rush assaulters. So practice does not make you a perfect user but make you a well trained M4A1 user. Hit upperbody and control recoil. Burst and Crouch if possible but not too often. When mastered it is one of SF dangerous, versatile and agile weapon.
