I am looking for an experienced developer/programmer, before going into the technical skills that you must have - let's clarify:
- Attitude - by far the most important attribute that you need to have. I want someone who has a hunger to learn, someone always looking for new and innovative ways to do things.
- Professionalism - Treat this opportunity with care and respect, like it's the most important thing in your life. (wait, you mean IT isn't that already?!?)
- This isn't just a job, it's a career - At the end of the day, you have to ask: "this is your life, are you who you wanna be?" - I don't want to be reposting for this position a month from now. I want this to work on for a long time. I want you to succeed in life, and I want this career to fulfill your desire to be an awesome developer. I want to invest in you: time, energy, money & I want you to be passionate about this.
- It's about the fame - yes I know you want the money, and hey we all have bills to pay - rest assured, you will be well compensated, but focus not on the short term benefits (seriously, don't sell your soul for a box of krispy kremes. oh hey, call center agents.) rather the long term goals - let's build the next amazing app, let's build something bigger than another Wordpress website that looks pretty (though we might do that to pay the bills). You got a dream? Let's make it happen.
Still reading? Damn, you are persistent. You might just have what it takes. Assuming you are on board so far, and you're willing to put in your best, all day, every day, here are some reqs:
- Programmer - you actually have to be one. No nurses. No fresh grads either, but we will be doing some OJT stuff in the future. 3+ years experience.
- Languages - You must be a master of at least one object oriented language and have the online reputation / portfolio to back it up. Links & Code required - send them in with your resume.
- Leadership - Leadership is key to this position, not just in title, the actual quality, so be able to express how you lead.
- It just comes Natural - You have to be able to do a lot of things well, with minimal effort and adapt to changes in technology/languages/APIs Don't compartmentalize your skill set, we all have specialties, and we also have an opportunity to sharpen our skill set, broaden our knowledge and do more. So you gotta be a geek, and good at everything from Photoshop to CSS to PHP.
I am looking for someone who doesn't just want another programming job, I want someone who wants to join a company and leave a lasting impact on the world. We work on some very exciting projects for clients (iOS, web dev, web apps, Facebook apps) and have a few of our own product ideas in the oven. There is plenty of space for yours!
Fame - naturally, with our success.
Salary - based on your calibre.
