Just before the 24th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power uprising, the son and namesake of the late strongman ousted by that revolt on Tuesday said that the country would now be as successful as Singapore had former President Ferdinand Marcos not been removed from power.

i would strongly agree to this because while i was working abroad, we had a japanese guest onboard which shared a story about his father... his father and his friends during the time of marcos went to our country to work (OJW?overseas japanese worker? ) . he even mentioned, he could not believe the Philippines is going through a lot of problems nowadays.
i'm not a fan of marcos, in fact i can't remember how it was like. but i was really shocked by his claims. well, not only his but his friends as well. oh and i almost forgot, their korean friend quoted the claim as well. Whew!
Ph could have been nicer!
