I have a monitor that will turn on then off again when I turn on my AVR.

To solve the problem I don't turn off my AVR anymore. It's on all day, and if it catches fire at night, I'm sure I'm barbecued in bed.

Seriously, I only turn off my AVR when there is brownout. No need to turn it off each time you turn off the pc, you'll only damage the switch.
