It would really help to know kung unsay model no. sa imong motherboard.

Most of todays motherboard feature a "NATIVE" SATA, which does not require the floppy disk drivers.

Pero some older boards, IIRC, like the original ASUS P4PE Deluxe or ASUS P4S8X Deluxe and even the P4G8X use a somewhat separate controller like the brand Silicon Image, whcih would require the floppy disk drivers.

Maybe the other more experinced PC enthusiats here at istorya can give more details.

^^Correct. Connecting a SATA drive to a standard SATA controller shouldn't require a driver during OS installation. However like you said, some motherboards offer some sort of a SATA_RAID controller in which you do need a driver when you have a hard drive(s) connected to it (regardless if you configured it as a SATA RAID or just a JBOD).

depende bro if imo mobo has a native sata support den plug & play na ang hdd, i tried it with mobo nga walay native support so i still need to install the driver from the floppy, also try to check bios settings for SATA OPERATION.

try to disable the raid functionality in your bios settings, this will allow the os to be directly installed on your sata drive without requiring you a fdd.. hope this helps

hmm abi ko basta SATA you need the disk gyud coz SATA drives are considered as SCSI drives by windows. In my GA-965P-DS3 mobo, even if naay setting for SATA in IDE mode, I still have to install the controller else it would not recognize the drive.
