this might be a stupid question but what the heck.

what's the reason behind hidden infractions? why aren't infractions visible to the public (and visible only to the user)? doesn't that defeat the purpose of an infraction? if one small infraction is given (which won't harm your account in any way), then what supposedly is an infraction's purpose if it's only seen between you (the user) and the rest of the mods/admins? i understand that it's intended to serve as a gentle "warning", but would a "warning" be sufficient to control repeat offenders?

infractions are visible only to you para dili ka mapaka-uwawan nga naa ka'y violation. it is there to remind you that you've made an offense so from that point on you'll watch your posts because if you continue to do so, you'll end up with a much heavier penalty. well, come to think of it, infractions are not penalties but warnings because you maintain your ability to post pero warning nga naay prescription. REAL penalties on the other hand are mute, temporary and or permanent suspension of account.

this is why people shouldn't outright bash the mod/admin who gave them infractions because its only there to remind you that you've done something wrong. they are not taking your privileges, yet but they will if you insist.
