    Default 7300gt 256mb gddr3 or 7600gs 512mb gddr2??

mga bro...which is better between the two? the 7300gt is gddr3 but has 256mb of memory only, while the 7600gs is gddr2 only but packs 512mb of memory...

    go for 7600GST...

512MB is an overkill, it wont benefit the 7600GS at all

    mga bro...since i cant afford a 7600gst(arnd 9k mn gd), i edited my question in this post...now, it's between the 7300gt 256mb gddr3 and the 7600gs 512mb gddr2...which is better better between the two??

by the way, the 7600gs has 12 rendering pipelines while the 7300gt has 8 rendering pipelines only...

    well

512MB of graphics ram will only benefit very fast GPUs such as 1900XTX or 7900GTX, which is capable to pull textures across its very wide memory bandwidth (256-bit at 1.55G) which is about 50GB/s
    - high resolution games will use large textures and requires a lot of rendering power so even if you have large Graphics memory on a not-so-fast GPU, it would not benefit if the GPU is "slow" moreover this 512MB of memory is also running on much lower speed across a 128-bit lane (800Mhz@128-bit = 12.8 Mb/s) for the 7600GS
    - even fast GPUs dont really show a huge impact moving to 512MB from 256MB
    - this large amount of memory will only fall as a marketing gimmick esp. the common misconception "more graphics memory = more speed"

by the way, i think GST is about 7,900 sa PCX

    and its clocked at 500/1.4G : Core/Mem
w/ 12 pixel pipes and 5 vertex shaders
which is just a bit slower than the 7600GT

7300GT will be fine more like a 6600GT

@yob: thanks a lot for the info bro..and yes, i think i'll go for the 7600GST instead, considering gmay ra ila price difference...i was refering to the 7600 GT's price on my previous post...
