CORRUPT immigration officer

i left for singapore last nov and i had a very disturbing experience with one of the immigration officers.

i was rushing in for boarding when i went to the immigration counter. there was only one officer available at that time so i lined up behind an old lady. one officer then called out to me, seeing that there was nobody in the queue i hurried went up to his counter. he asked me if my trip was for leisure or business... when i said i was going on vacation, he then told me " strikto raba sila karon, basin di ka pabyahion...ani nlng.. pila imong cash na peso dha?" i was stunned. i didn't know what to do, i wondered why because as far as my travel documents are concerned,im good to go.

i already had my money changed into dollars so i only had 4k left. i was going to tell him the truth but in my mind i knew that there was something seriously wrong about what's happening. instead i said i only have 2k..then he said "ani nlng... tabangan tikaw na di naka mahasol hasol, diretso nlng ka kay nagboarding na raba imong eroplano.mabilin nya ka. ambi nlng na imong 2k kay atong ihatag nila didto sa babaw.ug dili gani ka kbyahe, akong ibalik nimo." i obviously dont have much of a choice so i reached down into my purse to get my wallet then he said in an alarmed manner "ayaw pahalata. makita ka sa camera. kani o, tabuni ug papel... ayaw pa obvious" then he placed a piece of paper in front of me and instructed me to put the money under it. so i did. then he stamped my passport and then let me go to the boarding area where the rest of the passengers were already boarding the plane.


may pagka angats pud ko, didto na ko sa plane nka realize nga gipangwartahan diay ko sa buing. ggrrrrr.... makalagot. i should have said no, why would i make any additional payments when i already paid the travel tax of 1k+ and terminal fee of 500? but then again, if nakiglalis pa ko niya, basin ma miss nako akong flight. now that im back in cebu, im thinking of filing a complaint against that officer. it makes me wonder... ani na jud diay ka corrupt ang mga government employees? to think that they fat paychecks, ila pa jud pangwartahan ang mga taw. wala sila ka huna huna na pwede sila ireklamo...or maybe they're not afraid of doing such crimes because they're backed up by the people higher than them... grrrr. mao ning di mu asenso ang pilipinas, daghan kau mu take advantage sa ilang isigkataw.

This happens anytime kung dili ka mag bantay aw ma ilad gyud ka. Imo unta gikuha iyang name pau para imong id oul sa mga officers sa airport. well at least will make a good experience para sunod dili nani mahitabo nimo.

nahitabo sad na sa akoa sister last nov. gipangayuan cya og 7k bisan og legal iya visa padulong sa UAE. mao 2 akoa gi tawagan ang akoa sister din nakig talk ko sa immigration officer akoa gikasab-an kung nganu grabeh kaau cla mang wawart. nangau og pasaylo sa akoa. au nakuha na sa akoa sister ang name sa guy. akoa man jud gibanggit ang iya name. HADLOK man lagi.

BABYPAUPAU ... indeed people like him exist because people like you exist also . As long as we know that we are good to go , there is nothign to worry about . Next time , ayaw na pailad ... get names , places , time and supervisor of the shift .
