blackmore was considered as the only guitar player that rivalled page in the 70's I think circus mag man siguro to nako nabasahan or metal edge .

page is awesome but I think blackmore is better. and he made one of the most famous riffs of all time "smoke on the water" . and I think he created the very first thrash metal song "highway star" the speed of that song alone is way ahead of it's time. he's also the idol of yngwie malmsteen .

what do you think?.

I'm a big fan of both guitar players. But Jimmy Page for me is a point ahead of Blackmore. He created so many good guitar riffs - Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song, Kashmir - to name a few. And of course, who would forget "Stairway to Heaven" - considered by many critics as the greatest rock song of all time... :mrgreen:

I dont know if this is true, but pag 1974 kuno na guiness kuno ang deep purple as the loudest rock band on the planet.

Ako Jimmy page, kaay mas versatile siya nga guitarista, he kan play, blues, RNB, acoustic, and iyang riffs kay very catchy. if you kisten to ledzep and compare it clearly with deep purple, mas daghan nindot kanta ang ledzep. plus jimmy dances while he plays while richie just stands up. and jimmy page has a lot of tricks of his sleave, like using a violin bow.

when ritchie was asked whos the greatest rock guitarist of all time? he choose jeff beck, "he said the guy has a great range and improvisation which jimmy page lacks in his live act." he also added, page was the master in the studio, no one beats him in the studio.

I still cant forget the california jam 74. ritchie kicks ass on that one.

naa pa gyud. phil collen and steve clark of def leppard. they were asked why did they choose to play guitar? phil answered I was 11 years old when i first saw ritchie and I thought to myself I want to be like him, same ra pud si steve clark.

but steve was a jimmy page addict, tan awa iya mga guitars halos tanan parehas kang jimmy, though he was a sloppy guitar player, pero kuha kaayo niya ang mga stage antics ni page :mrgreen:
