HP DV2000 problem.. Can somebody here help me or give me a good advice what to do??

I have a notebook (HP Pavillion DV2000). The problem with this unit is that when i power it on (running on a/c power, battery's dead), all the little lights you see around on the keyboard (i dunno what they are, status lights probably) lights up and blinks, then it makes a beeping sound then freezes. I dont see anything on the screen, it doesnt light up, not even a blip.

My notebook has a broken battery pack and it doesnt turn if i pull the plug, i have to keep it plugged-in to keep it running.

And now this here problem...

Im not a techie, so i dont know any of those computer jargon blah-blah..

Can anybody please tell me what seems to be it's problem?

Bro, try turning over the laptop and open the memory card hatch. Remove the memory cards and clean the gold pins (use a clean rubben eraser and make sure to dust off the eraser residue before inserting it back to the memory slot.) Re-install it after cleaning and try turning on.

Do this 1st and let us know what happens next.
