Maybe they want to preserve their seats because they know they will not get reelected even if they could run. To act contrary to the statement of the president stating to the effect that the 2010 elections will push through, their move to pass such resolution seemed to be a desperate act.

To say that they are GMA allies seemed to be futile now. After all, their political interests are far more important than being an ally of a leaving president.

the 1987 constitution can be said as a "reactionary constitutions" kay the Con Con then was busy countering on the excesses of an authoritarian regime ...it is a good one for us then but there are provisions which fall short to our present reality ... daghang bag-ohon ... di lang unta ang reversion to parliamentary form of government: it wont work here as we are very fragmented people.
