PC wont boot to OS

Good day istoryans and i know this is the right place to seek help!
this is quite a bit long story so here it goes....

i bought a P5GX-MX MOBO,160GB RAM, P4 3.2GHZ late last 2007, so its working fine with the XP installed on it however due to (my kakulitan!) i dont know anything regarding hardware of my pc i tried tinkering on it. i installed vista home premium(pirated edition) on it. and still it worked good.so then i bought late last nov 2008 ino3d 7200 256mb VC but then after installing it i started to have some problems.i used the pc with the new VC on it and had fun with the nice graphics instead of the sucky internal graphics on the board.however out of no where after using the PC for a few WEEKS hell came, one day i turned my PC on and i saw the AMI logo with the stuffs you see on DOS when u normaly boot up ur rig but then when i was waiting for the OS to come up(microsoft logo and the green bar running) but nothing came up.i know the monitor is turned on coz its not pitch black on the screen,its slightly lighter black(if theres a term to describe it).so first instinct is, reformat the entire crap and start a new one.then i did!i was happy for a couple of days!then again the same horror came.black screen without the OS loding up.did it again for a couple of tries reformatting it and i could use it for a couple of times then just in one day the entire thing wont boot up on the OS.it goes on the DOS screen but it wont go straight on the loading OS or the welcome screen.now i tried swapping the memory on the other slot but i guess its not detected coz the think wont display anything at all...
maybe, what im thinking memory problem,hdd problem....pero kung hdd cya mu sulod man sa vista pag ako i reformat and install...ang problema after pila ka uses mabuang na pd balik.hehehehe... i tried installing the windows xp os but it goes until the press any key to boot from cd or dvd... that note when i tried installing a different os..screen goes black if i press any key on the keyboard...sad to say i dont know if guba ang xp installer nako or dile.but i guess not kay ma detect man cya.dile lang mu unpack.lack of memmory maybe?

i resetted the cmos by pulling out the batter and putting it back again

can you try booting to safe mode? tap F8 when the computer starts up. why do i have the feeling that you're using one of the defective seagate hard drives so please post your system specs.

if i boot to safe mode mao ra gihapon. it loads up to some dll until it hangs up...system wont go through the OS bai...
i could install vista on it but after a few uses on the PC dile na mu go through sa OS.pag xp i insert the xp installer until ra cya sa press any key to boot from CD or DVD...
when i press any key it goes to black screen...

HOPE THIS HELPS BAI. i thought if you upgrade ur BIOS then mao lang ang seagate mabuang...i did not upgrade my BIOS... how come

how many sticks of ram do you have? can you try it out with 1 stick at a time and on each slot.

i just checked your hard drive and it isn't part of the affected models. weird problem indeed, again, please post your complete specs.

try testing the RAM sticks, then the video card then try replacing the Hard Drive.

i have only 1 ram 1GB and i swaped it with either of the available slots
i removed the VC.i am now currently using my internal graphics on the MOBO
as for the HDD i only have 1 HDD wich is 160GB Baracuda 7200

details of my PC
pentium 4 3.2 HTT
1GB RAM PQI
1 160GB IDE Seagate Baracuda 7200
MOBO P5gz-MX
thats about it... i got my lightscribe dvd

soo does it boot? does it boot with both ram? does it boot with the VC? have you tried changing HDD and see if thats the problem?

if not then it could be the Pirated OS your using

boss lokster it does boot when i use it for several times pag bago nga reformat and install sa VISTA OS.then after it still boots until dos only then it wont go through the OS anymore. secondly i tired installing XP OS on it but it just goes through press any key to boot from CD or DVD... when i press any key on the keyboard the screen turns black only.... i cant check for the HDD coz i only got 1 pc 160GB HDD. dont know where to test either the ram or HDD... i hope its not the HDD problem. but do you guys think its not the MOBO problem right? i reset the CMOS just to start from scratch!...now i just installed a fresh VISTA on it ..lets see how it goes...
PS: i also tried installing again XP but to no avail.black screen still hunts me!!!!

but when you try to install XP its black

you have a dedicated video card right? the geforce? try removing that and see if you can install windows XP. if it gives you black screen, try replacing the RAM, cheapest option costs mga 600php,

IF either dont work, it could be your Hard Drive, if its not your hard drive then it could be you mobo, but as you say vista installs fine but breaks down later on.

have you tried checking your XP CD? maybe its broken, go for easy and simple solutions first before the tougher ones
