Naa naman thread ani before. Anyway let me answer your question, for me or my own opinion reformatting your hdd every time will not cause any problem or will not affect your hdd drive performance. They said it will clean your hard drive everytime you do reformatting and its a good thing to do. I have my maxtor 40GB IDE still kicking alive grabe almost every week gi reformat nako pero wa jud na guba.

I have a friend sa lexmark before he is everyday ga cge sila ug reformat sa mga hdd didto wa man naguba. So meaning it will not cause any harm when reformatting hdd.

If your doubtful ask the manufacturer's technical support. I hope it helps.

Been working with a HD company for about 5 years and yugi is right na di na siya maka guba.. reformatting is like writing to your harddisk which you do everyday.. what are harmful to your harddisks are the following;

1. If you drop it
2. moving it around while still operating. This is a common mistake to people.
3. exposure to Magnets
4. Bad power supply. May burn your HD's motherboard
5. and some are just factory defects

kanang ingon nga makaguba, is due to wear and tear. But maguba rana imong harddisk cge ug reformat kung nonstop one month reformat(unconditional "/u") nga walay pahuway. If reformat ka once a day or once a week, no harm done.

nope bro, not at all. just be careful if ma abtan ka og power flactuation or if ma off imo PC while creating partition or formatting your hard disk.

pde mo apil pangutana? kanang improper shutdown ba (like kanang mo hang, then e long press nlang ang power button) or kanang sigeg reset, mka daot ba sad na sya sa harddisk?
