before i install my new mem

need some advice before i install my new mem on my asus a7v8xx board.

i already have PQI 256mb pc400 installed on the first slot. il be receiving my Geil 512mb single pc400 tomorrow.

can i safely use PQI and Geil together. they are both PC400 mem does making my total mem 768mb.

where is it best to install the Geil 512mb? on the 2nd, 3rd, or the 1st?

or should i just remove the PQI permanently?

should be fine to use both and you can install the geiil on either of teh 3 slots.

you can install the 2 card...

mine are 2 256mb and 1 512mb both pc400.. never have a problem regarding with the memory.

kung naay compatiblity or instability problemes, try manually setting the memory timings and speed lang...

yes.. if naa incompatibility issue bet PQI ang GEIl... you may receive errors.. try langn imo

basta ako i've tried 2x512mb PQI's and 2x512mb Geil value on my asus p4p800-e deluxe before... manual akong settings sa ram nya overcloked pud toh... wala man hinoun ko nagka errors, normal man ang dagan but wala lang nako ma test jud og thorough (memtest86, prime95) kay ako naman ibaligya ang mga PQI's...

E-Dogang lang na so after installing your new DDR should you have a 768 mb (kung shared ang video check lang if pila ang naka shared) or upon intalling your new MB you can have a morthan 512mb memory size...else incompatiblity issue happen.

pwede ra ni kaayo... pero sa uban nga mobo, mohinay imo timings. depende ra sa imo mobo.
