Default P4Vmm2 Changing from SDram to DDram Problem

A ECS modeled P4VMM2 mobo here with an P4 1.7GHz chaginging from 384MB PC133 SDRAM to 384MB DDRAM PC2100 and PC266 sticks . The output was unstable and it cant even bootup anymore. I already change its many jumpers to their corresponding configurations by following the mobo's manual pero mao gihapon ang output, dili ka boot up og sometimes mo boot up pero kotob ra after sa windows xp loading nga interface then itom dayon ang screen. I checked the ddr modules by isolating it to another pc pero okay man, nag work man siya finely. I reseted also the CMOS jumpers hoping that its only a conflict in hardware memory pero mao gihapon ang output, no improvement. Gi checked pod nako ang mga capasitors sa akong mobo pero I didnt find any bulky or bulged one. But when I put back the sdr modules kay okay man siya, kung e ddr lang siya madaot. Sayangan dyud ko ani nga mobo kay working good man gud besides from putting a ddr mem on it. Unsa kaha ang cause ani? Any solution?

hmm? did you put SDR and DDR modules together?

if not.. theres something wrong with the motherboard itself... how often does it gives a good POST? ayaw lang sa boot sa windows.... if you can boot good then i recomment you to try MEMTEST 86+ - http://www.memtest.org - and have your rams inspected for errors.

in my experience there are some boards that undergone changing of mem types kay magpa reinstall sa windows para maka adjust ang windows sa iyang bag-ong environment... but to some other boards... okay ra man no need to reinstall.

only the ddr. i didnt combined the two pero. problema dyud siya kung ddr na ang akong e butang. dili dyud siya ka abot og windows' desktop, sa windows logo loading ra siya kotob tapos dark lighted screen dayon. pareha man mi og mobo sa ako uncle then pagchanged nako og ddr pod sa iyaha kay okay man, wala problema. ang ako ra dyud ang dili mo ok. sayangan dyud ko kay naa man gud ni sentimental value, hehe. bitaw, i still need and like this mobo due to this is working with me for years and i have no plan to buy new one yet. unsa kaha ang cause ani sa? naglibog ko. wala man dyud siya ni borot nga capacitors pod or sunog nga ic or mga pesa.

naa man jud centennial value ang mobo hehehehe.....

is there any BIOS configuration regarding ur memory setup, check mo na lng ang BIOS and maybe the jumpers if it need to be switch from SDR to DDR, or need to update BIOS for possible compatibility issue
