whats the difference between the two
same dual core. but mas newer ang core 2 dou kay sa dual core.
no big difference really. just power lower consumption. and i think bigger cache options for C2D.
any other opinions?
asa na dual core u gi mean the 2xxx series?
Dual cores starting from the E1200 series are made under the core 2 duo micro architecture, but with lower L2 cache.
But if you mean the dual core such as the D series then that processor is the old P4 architecture, w/c is slower and runs hotter. even a 3.2Ghz Intel D will have a hard time compared to the E2xxx series
A bit O.T., but anyways.... We have one here in the office (Pentium D 820 2.8 Ghz) its temperature currently is 55C at IDLE!!!! This things are really HOT!!!Originally Posted by EarlZ
We also have a E2160 here at the office its running 44C while being loaded with several programs.
dual core is a category of processors that have 2 physical processing units on a single package/die.
core 2 is a brand of intel processors using the core architecture, which comes in single-core (solo), dual-core (duo), quad-core (quad), and extreme (dual- or quad-core).

C2d is actually a follow-on architecture of the first modified Pentium m architecture called Core.

while dual or multicore means:
A multi-core CPU (or chip-level multiprocessor, CMP) combines two or more independent cores into a single package composed of a single integrated circuit (IC), called a die, or more dies packaged together.
