The M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Jewelers will be the first to test the mettle of the new-look Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals when both play an exhibition game this Thursday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Pals will be seeing action for the first time since acquiring national head coach Chot Reyes.
Reyes is the replacement of Derek Pumaren, who was ousted by the Talk ‘N Text management following the Pals’ dismal outing in the 33rd PBA Philippine Cup.
In the upcoming game, Chot will be going up against his younger brother Mike, who is one of the assistant coaches of the Jewelers.
The Jewelers will be under the watch of multi-titled mentor Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba.
Leading the charge for the Pals are former University of the Visayas (UV) stalwart Felix Belano, Jimmy Alapag, Mark Cardona, Kalani Ferreria, Ren-Ren Ritualo, Patrick Fran, Ernesto Billones, Harvey Carey, Jay Washington, Yousif Aljamal, Yancy de Ocampo, Don Allado and Ali Peek.
The Jewelers will have Stephen Padilla, Bruce Dacia, Marlon Basco, Dale Singson, Danny Aying, Woodrow Enriquez, Ronald Capati, Jayford Rodriguez and Gerry Cavan.
The exhibition game, presented by Basketball Association of the Philippines-Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas (BAP-SBP), is part of the Cebu City's annual Charter Day celebration.
Ticket prizes are pegged at P20 for general admission, P50 for upper box, P100 for lower box and P200 for ringside. /Correspondent Calvin D. Cordova
