After a a brief announcement following a teaser video early into the new year, HP's new Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook is now listed for purchase over at HP's online store with free standard shipping.
The Envy 14 Spectre in base trim will set you back US $1,399,99. With that you get a 128GB SSD and Core i5-2467M processor, while HP also lists a "recommended configuration" model at US $1,899,99 which sports a 256GB SSD and Core i7-2770M processor.Size and weight isn't exceptional, but give it worthiness as part of the Ultrabook realm with its 20mm thickness, dimensions of 12.88" (W) x 8.7" (D) x 0.79" (H) and weighing in at about 1.8Kg.
A particularly bold feature of the Envy 14 Spectre is the use of Gorilla Glass in spades; used on its lid, display, palmrest and even the touchpad. Also standard is its Beats Audio support, backlit keyboard and near-field communication (NFC) (referred to as 'HP Touch to Share').The 14-inch Brightview Infinity LED display is confined to a resolution of just 1366 x 768, but word has it this spiffy looking Ultrabook will be launching at the end of the month in the Asia-Pacific region with a higher resolution 1600 x 900 panel.
