Putting up of a Karatula/Poster of your Profession outside your Residence

I've just observed in my travels in the provinces or even in some parts of Cebu or some city's here that some people really put their titles up (usually painted on a wood) outside their residence. Titles like atty., dr., engr., cpa and so on are really displayed in what seems to be like a shouting for attention to me.

I know it's some sort of an advertisement for the services that they render but what else are the reasons? I acknowledge of course that having to attain such titles is no joke but to be putting them as visible as a mailbox is too much.

I even got hold of an annual fiesta magazine with the sponsors name listed in bold from where they are now like: Happy Fiesta! Greetings from Juan de La Cruz, New Zealand (and so on and so forth).

Correct gyud sis!I see this in some areas,labi na months after the said exams.Naa ko barkada na pag pasar niya sa NLE,ang iyang mga relatives kay nagpa himu gyud ug tarp with his name and graduation pic and ila gi butang sa ilang basketball court!Hehehe.

He didn't want it,pero wala man siya nakabalo.Too late na.Lol!

uncle - cum laude (siguro) - arki
first child: summa sum laude (chemical engr)
second child - magna cum laude (limot ko sa course)
third child: magna cum laude (mechl engr)

Mau ba? I know someone lageh hus as intelligent as these above and they're a family of intelligent people too by the way but I wonder if he also puts up his name and his title or his academic achievements in the higest beam of his house. If not, why kaha?
