to hunter912, protein supplement didnt work for you coz you cant gain weight by simply taking whey protein alone without doing any weight training and consuming enough calories. i saw your post that you want to gain weight, so if thats your main goal then you should buy weight gainer supplements coz they are made with lots of calories to help you gain weight faster.
normally we get enough protein from our daily diet but protein supplement can be use if you want to build and maintain muscles. people who are doing weight training needs twice the amount of protein to gain muscle mass. so if your taking protein supplement (on top of your regular diet) even if your not doing weight training then you might get protein overload which can possibly damage your kidney.
