My Phoenix thread must've been swallowed up by oblivion when the server changeover happened (or maybe I forgot to press submit, shrugs) Nonetheless yep, it's there. The main cam hasn't rotated yet so we only have a sliver (about 20 degrees worth) of Martian near-polar terrain images for now.

Yet Another Update:
This image is a very important reminder of how far human technology has progressed. This image was taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, while it was orbiting over the landing site...it shows in amazing detail, the Phoenix lander descending down the Martian surface, main para deployed, this is about 3 1/2 minutes after EDL-start. One robot photographing another...both robots are 277,773,326 kilometers away from us, and it takes 9 minutes to send commands, and another 9 minutes to receive a response, to both of them, all done with grace like a ballet...amazing.

good thing it ddnt crash, or they'd wait for another 5 years to complete another "cheaper" probe.
