what do you guys think of the 680i Chipset? Is it better than 965?

Will keep and move to new mobo:

2x80 GB SATA
2x200GB SATA
SONY DVDRW
ASUS DVDROM
Etc..

i dunno which one is better teh 680i was my first choice but then i read in evga forums, a lot of people having fried ram problems with voltages higher than 2.1V. bought teh gigabyte 965P instead way labad, oc's pretty good @teh price i got it i supposed i made teh right choice and probably saved me a lot of headaches since some people using teh same rams i am using now were fried by teh evga 680i. may not be a general 680i problem but i guess its something to think about before going for teh 680i.

Same here, ive been researching the whole PM today lolz!

The only think lacking sa 965P for me is a firewire port since I use that to rip my videos from my video cam.
I guess ill just have to add a firewire port nalang

watabout the E6400 vs E6600? does that E6600 have the same overclocking capabilities as the E63/6400?

well, my e6600 is clocked@3.5ghz 24/7. can go as high as 3.8ghz but it needs 1.575 volts to pass orthos blend for 24 hours, 1.575 is kinda high so ako nalang pa ubsan 3.5ghz (bati2 na gani ni cya nga stepping, if your lucky you can get a good stepping you can probably get it to 4ghz with minimal voltage increase)

if your willing to wait, quad core intel at 2.4ghz will sell at around 266 - 300 $ come 3rd quarter of this year,
that would be the same price of e6600 right now..
