ON-THE-SPOT PHOTO CONTEST

1. This photography contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers. There must be
at least ten (10) registered participants for the photo contest to be valid, otherwise it shall be
declared as a no contest.
2. Official entry forms/registration will be available on-site at the Cebu Yacht Club, Lapu-lapu City on April 28, 29 and 30, 2017. Kindly look for the Registration Booth at the premises.

REGISTRATION BOOTH SCHEDULES

April 28 - 2pm - 4pm
April 29 - 9am - 4pm
April 30 - 9am - 3pm
3. The registration fee is ONE HUNDRED FIFTY PESOS (P 150.00) per registrant.
4. A Registered participant is entitled to One (1) Free Entry per day and must be taken/shot on
on the date/day itself. Additional Two (2) photos daily may be submitted and shall be charged at
Twenty Five (P25.00) pesos each. Submissions shall be in accordance with Items 6 & 7 of the Contest
Guidelines below.
5. DSLR, Digital/P&S Cam, Celfone Cam, or Action Cam except Drone (Drone is prohibited in the area)
can be used.
6. Screening/initial judging of photos will be done daily.
7. Final judging will be on April 30, 2017 with the Announcement/Awarding of Winners during the
Celebration Dinner/Dragon Boat Race Results Awarding Ceremony at the Island Central Mactan
Mall Lobby starting 6:30pm.
8. Judges for the Photocontest will be from the Dragon Boat Cebu Central Organizing Committee.
9. Decision of the Judges will be final.

CONTEST GUIDELINES :

The general theme for the photo contest will be: “Celebrate and Paddle with Us”
1. Action shots of the actual dragon boat races as indicated in the official schedule of
activities from Dragon Boat Cebu Central.
2. Shots may include spectators at the venue only during the actual event as per official schedule.
3. All entries must be candid and not posed. Photographers should avoid intentional gestures or
actions to disrupt the participants of the event and observe/follow the events' rules and area
restrictions from the event organizer.
4. Entries/Images submitted must be in JPEG format, in color or black and white. Soft copy
only, NO PRINTS.
5. Entries must not contain watermarks or any identifying marks of the owner. Violation will
result in automatic disqualification.
6. Submission of entries will be done daily at the Registration Booth/Area with the following
schedules and in must be in accordance with Item 7:
6.1. On or before 4pm on April 28 and 29, 2017.
6.2. On or before 3pm on April 30, 2017.
7. Entries submitted must be taken on the day/date itself. Entries taken/shot on previous or
other dates will not be accepted and will be grounds for disqualification.
8. This is an On-the-Spot Photo Contest, straight out of the camera (SOOC) entries is encouraged. However, creative cropping and global adjustments (exposure, B&W conversion, dodge and burn) will
be considered, please bring your own laptop.
9. Winning Photos shall be owned by the Dragon Boat Cebu Central and the Organizers for marketing, promotional and the like and as such no royalties will apply. However, credits will be given to the photographer everytime applicable. The Photographer may not use the winning photos for other photo competition and other purpose except for personal use.
10.Board of Directors (BOD) of the Photographers Club of Cebu and Directors/Members of the Dragon Boat Cebu Central Organizing Committee are not qualified to join the contest.

Composition = 40%
Photo Quality = 20%

1st Prize - P 10,000 Pesos plus Trophy
2nd Prize - P 5,000 Pesos plus Certificate
3rd Prize - P 2,000 Pesos plus Certificate
