i am sorry, but the idea of 'progress though tourism' is a laughable idea in the face of a widespread and systematic socio-economic malaise that we are experiencing. we must remember that the deeply-seated problems of this country can never hope to be solved by such a superficial solution as tourism

this talk of 'beauty' as an asset of the Filipina reminds me too much of Imelda Marcos and her astounding ideas that the beauty of the Filipinas will lift this country out from its misery. and along that came the rising incidences of human trafficking, exploitation and prostitution of our 'beautiful Filipinas'.

no investor with a sound economic brain will invest in a country because of a prime reason that they have the 'most beautiful women in the world'. it's simply a ridiculous idea.
