I'm not really into or just not used to installing an anti-virus program in my pc.
One thing I hate about having an anti virus is that it slows down your pc. And this is what I'm experiencing right now. I'm using the free version of AVG...
Any comment/thoughts on this?

Anti Virus programs will only slow down your computer if nag scan or nag update.
ok raman magbutang ug anti virus basta maka daog lang imong pc. "Prevention is better than cure".
Daghan pman sad lain factors of slowness sa imong pc aside from your anti virus... IMHO.

u know ing-ana baya ako huna2x sauna.. pero nakarealize ko unsa ka sayon makasulod sa virus labi na ang user sa pc sige ug access sa internet.
so far naka experience ko ni sulod ang virus through peer-to-peer client, ad-ware bundled software and mostly websites (labi na mga "warez" na site).

Disadvantages?? kay makakita siya ug virus that might cause u headaches...mypa wala AV para wala Virus makitAn..heheh

bitaw di gyud kaayo ko tig gamitan ug anti virus software...
pero unsa-on nga naa gyuy virus nga di madada...
pareha anang virus nga mo-ungot im0 pc kung mag copy-paste ka ug file...
huhuh
i'm not sure kung tangtangon ko ni balik...hinoon naa na may deepfreeze...

i dont use any Anti virus, kapoi. bisan unsaon nimog butanga ma ka solod man ghapon ang mga virus
akong prevention is "NO REMOVABLE DEVICES ALLOWED" haha
works everytime.. flash disk jd mag gikan akong ma kuha nga mga virus.
how bout u?

try other AV, dont rely on AVG. it depend on the user
