    Bug-at ba ang Linux?

    Depende sa distribution nga imong gigamit bai. Ang Ubuntu mora'g pupareha lang kabug-at sa XP. Same with OpenSUSE, Fedora and most major distros.

    Pero naay daghang light distros. For example: Linux Puppy, MoonOS (nice distro), Zenwalk, Lubuntu, Slitaz ug uban pa. Ang Linux Puppy 100 MB lang iyang ISO image pero naa na'y mga lightweight sad nga mga software apil.

    Using ubuntu 9.04 until 2010 ra ang support sa ubuntu ana. It is suggested that downloading the iso file than getting the cd as they release a new version every 6months.

    Sa kabugatan para nako mas gaan ang ubuntu why?
    1. when installed you don't need extra softwares like cd burner / movie player / email client.. built in na
    2. In windows, usually mo abot ug 20gig ang installation. Sa ubuntu, 4.3g ra na gamit (that with all of my files na)
    3. Software? you can run windows apps using wine, and you can just download any program via the add/remove basta naa ka internet.
    4. Grabe ang support sa ubuntu, if you have problems just go to the ubuntu forums. They are more than happy to help.
    5. Naa mga applications nga linux version modagan sa ubuntu.

    dia mga Minimum requirements
    from: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...emRequirements
    It should be possible to get Ubuntu running on a system with the following minimum hardware specification, although it is unlikely that the system would run well. You should use the Alternate install CD to attempt such an installation.

    * 300 MHz x86 processor
    * 64 MB of system memory (RAM)
    * At least 4 GB of disk space (for full installation and swap space)
    * VGA graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
    * CD-ROM drive or network card

    Recommended minimum requirements
    Ubuntu should run reasonably well on a computer with the following minimum hardware specification. However, features such as visual effects may not run smoothly.
    * 700 MHz x86 processor
    * 384 MB of system memory (RAM)
    * 8 GB of disk space
    * Graphics card capable of 1024x768 resolution
    * Sound card
    * A network or Internet connection

    Note: All 64-bit (x86-64) PCs should be able to run Ubuntu. Use the 64-bit installation CD for a 64-bit-optimised installation.

    Recommended for visual effects
    Visual effects provide various special graphical effects for your desktop to make it look and feel more fun and easier to use. If your computer is not powerful enough to run visual effects, you can turn them off and will still have a usable Ubuntu desktop.

    Visual effects are turned on by default if you have a graphics card which is supported. For information on supported graphics cards, see DesktopEffects.

    * 1.2 GHz x86 processor
    * 384 MB of system memory (RAM)
    * Supported graphics card

    in short ubuntu is lighter as it uses LESSER RAM and hdd space. If in doubt try installing ubuntu using the live setting, di jud hilabtan imo hdd. Naa ra sa RAM ang OS until you shut down or reboot.

    actually you only use one CD to install linux but the flavor of the desktop differs.

    Ubuntu uses Gnome, Kubuntu uses KDE, Xubuntu uses XFCE. There are different versions as ubuntu is OPEN SOURCE and not proprietary. So when you install any one of the 'flavors' you don't have to install any other programs.. all you need is already installed. Gimp=photoshop, open office=microsoft office, ym and email client.

    There are over 1000 flavors of linux that you can install. The most popular is ubuntu.
