Hey guys, I'm greatly considering buying the Canon EOS 400D XTi. Can anyone give me feedback on this model? Good or bad, everything will be greatly appreciated.

doesn't have a quick status screen... small... other than that... its a good camera...
10MP, dust reduction, 2.5" LCD... good enough...
yup yup, even thou im a alpha user, but i consider Xti is also a good camera, basta 2006 is good year to invest DSLR almost all brand gave thier best!!!
400D + 18-85mm USM IS canon lens = Killer Combination!!!
@ koto - you mean the canon 17-85USM IS right? ... its a great lens, and i'm no longer selling mine hehe i was lusting for the ef-s 17-55f2.8 IS or the 24-105f4L IS, but i just realized that my lens is very sharp and most of all i realized that i dont have the money to buy either of the two lenses i am lusting for hehehe
yup mas mu preffer ko sa 24-105f4L USM IS, very universal ver versatile but very expensive (mura sad sa Nikon na 18-200mm VR p40k) Mao ta ako paliton canon 400D, 50mm f1.8, 24-105mm f2.8 IS PERO wala man sa Canon available hehee na hurot dayun tskk... tsk... and if napay cash 24mm super wideangle hehee.. pero payter man sad ako Alpha hehe Nikon D80 & pentax k10d sad wahoo halos tanan nga 10mpx karun nindot!!! matud pa sa ako kaila nga photographer 2006-breakthrough in DSLR technologyOriginally Posted by edwin_sn
By the way, Sony's Alpha dSLR is PopPhoto's Editor's Choice of the year.
The 24-105L is too long on a crop body at an equivalent of 38mm at the wide end, unless you get the 10-22 EFS to cover the UWA...and this lens combo will be at least $1600. Of course you could still use it in a crop body but this lens was mainly intended for a full frame body. I would recommend the 17-55 f2.8IS instead or the 17-85IS if budget is kinda limited.
Get the cheaper Canon Rebel XT.. more or less same in performance with the XTi except for the MP..
