Out of every yamato release for macross that has ever been concieved, the 1/48 VF-1 has the MOST small parts! Molds are big and expensive, and making a mold for a big piece is a lot easier and cheaper than making molds for several small pieces(which are integral to the 1/4 hence the big MSRP.
