Default Is it possible to speed up my Asus A43s Laptop?

    Hi guys!

I am a proud owner of an i5 Asus A43S series laptop. It's fast, but when it comes to my much needed programs like Adobe After Effects, gakamang jud iya speeds and sigi siya hang.

I don't know much about hardware and OS. Here are the specs:

    Asus A43S
OS - Window 7 Home Premium
    Processor - Intel Core i5-2410
    LCD - 14.0' HD GL,LED
    Memory - 2GB DDR3 Memory
    Storage - 500GB
Nvidia Geforce Graphic GT540M Cuda 512MB

I didn't purchase this, it was originally my mom's but was handed to me. I guess I would've gotten better specs if I had been given the choice over it. So....what do I need to do to up the speed? Is it possible to upgrade this? If so, can anyone direct me where and how much it would possibly cost? or mas maayo mupalit nalang ko bag-u? Thankies!

@CARLOtech - yeah, I know, desktop biya ta ako gusto kaso I need to be very mobile man gud, and a mac is out of the question. Too expensive. So you think ma upgrade kaha ni nako? Mga pila kaha ang cost sa upgrade?

you need more space sa imong RAM,,, windows 7 neatly eats 1gb of ram when fully loaded....

you need more firepower sa processor and GFX (video card), ensure fast Front Side Bus (hardware dependent)

please take note, when you work with those apps on your laptop,,, you render, you design, it utilizes alot of system resources THUS, generating alot of heat.... excessive heat can damage components.

a DESKTOP Solution is best for this kind of tasks.

easiest way is to add more memory. 2gb will be gobbled up by your browser and apps. when you hit the 2gb or so limit, the os will start page memory data to the disk which will make the system seem to slow down when loading new apps or switching between them.

ssd would be nice but still a bit expensive upgrade

sakto si carlo, upgrade ur HDD to SSD, have the 12Gbps SSD if u can

have 8GB RAM or a 2 x 8GB if pwede sa laptop nimo

but why Mac? is it powered by another processor maker than intel and faster? it's not. it's same intel powered as most laptop that's not as expensive.

if its powered by i7, then buy i7 powered windows OS Laptop.

and take advantage of the CUDA, use Adobe CS6..it's CUDA | GPU based and Mercury Playback engine
