OT@maling: ahehehee.. true, true!
read a lot of books (English ones)
swallow your pride and admit that you can have mistakes once in a while
write, write, write.. befriend your PC and trashcan
refrain from texting, it can deteriorate your spelling skills
watch foreign films
mana nako ug send. wink wink nudge nudge.
OT: yep yep! endorsed it already! glad to have you here at istorya! another brilliant mind.
Advantage over what? Over who?
.........yeah, are you trying to say that we have a slight advantage over our south east asian neighbors??
Blame this on the tele series on and the tagalization of the animation series. If children often hear the english language they will try to emulate and hopefully speak it. And this cellphones' SMS is making people lose their ability to spell, it's deteriorating. People don't mind the correct spelling "as lng as u cn prnounce 8, 8s ok". haha. As long as you can pronounce it, it's ok. Damn. They sort of made another form of vocabulary - the "Text vocabulary". it's crap.
......Start teaching english at an early age, schools should be more strict on the English Subject.
you can also read my complaints here: haha

hey look at it at the bright side, we still speak english better compare to other counties especially in asian countries.
I do agree that texting in short cut is not helping.
If you are in the Philippines, speak English if you are in US.. speak Tagalog.
what!!! that's the most ridiculous suggestion i have ever heard. Be serious. Why would you speak Tagalog in America, no one will ever understand you.Originally Posted by cyclops
