PHP OR RUBY?

HI, i just want to know who are people using ruby now.... let me clarify, that ruby language not the ruby on rails framework... which think is very easy for you to use? and more difficult to use.

I am using ruby but on top of the Rails framework. i haven't use php so i cant compare. all i can say is ruby is a cool and very flexible language.

Same here. I think Ruby was rarely used before the rails framework came. I don't know why because it is very efficient once you learn what it can do.

IMHO, better to go with PHP, due to the larger programmer and user base. Sourceforge has lots of projects using PHP, and any bookstore has more PHP books than Ruby... I haven't tried Ruby yet, but until it has a broader programmer base, it will probably stay in its niche for few more years.

Php is really great and i diffinitely agree that friendster is using PHP. Not only that but the webhosting for PHP servers are very affordable comparing to ASP using windows servers.
