Campaign to revise Philippines consent laws -- July 10 2008

Child *** abuse is a widespread problem in the Philippines, partly because of inadequate laws. The age of consent in the country is just 12, and that means paedophiles are able to legitimately dodge prosecution.

Now one politician is campaigning to raise the age to 16, arguing it would help to combat the problem of paedophilia.

Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from the Philippines.
