What are your thoughts on the Cebu Metro BUS?

These buses are now being operated. Pero I guess it's still in the experimental stage since there are still a lot of things to do (like widening of roads, creation of a dedicated bus lane, and "official" bus stops.)

The minimum fare is P8. Pardo to SM City is around P13 (airconditioned bus). There are two types of buses -- airconditioned and non-aircon.

By the way, the buses CANNOT ENTER Mandaue City yet. I don't know the reason for this but the vision will be for a bus to run from Mandaue City all the way to Minglanilla.

As of now, I think SM City to Minglanilla pa ang available (MJ-Cuenco-New Imus Road-P.del Rosario-N.Bacalso-Cebu South Road).

Well, IMHO, ang cebu padulong na jud Metro Manila. But having Cebu Metro Bus is much advantage, especially travelling from far places. There are advantages and disadvantages of these. If you are to look at EDSA, perting daghana sa buses ngadto. Mao na magka-cause og grabe nga traffic sa EDSA. Wala pa man ko kasakay aning Metro Cebu Bus, pero mas maayu kung mo-issue sila og ticket everytime mo-bayad ka. Mao sab na advantage sa bus, just like in Metro Manila. It would be better to ride a bus nga naay TV, para dili sab boring imong byahe.

    Yup they issue a ticket.

Actually, the plan of the government bro is to have a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). This will not produce a scenario like in Manila where there are lots of buses just like the jeepneys here. In the BRT system, the number of buses per route are regulated I think, tapos they also follow a "schedule." For example, at every Bus Stop, the bus stays for a particular time, say 1 minute. With or without passengers, the bus will leave in 1 minute. This goes on to the next bus stop.

I'm not sure though if the buses that we have now will eventually transform into a BRT in the few months to come but what I do hope is for the necessary infrastructures to be given priority the soonest possible -- widening of roads, creation of a dedicated bus lane, and bus stops.

I don't see a problem here. What is important is that ma-regulate lang jud ang mga buses. Dili lang mag-pa-ugat ang mga bus drivers. Arnoldsa, sakto sab imo opinion nga for like every 1 minute mo hunong sa bus stop. unya larga dayun. Frankly speaking baya, lingaw baya ko mo-sakay og bus, just like in Metro Manila.

It's just another problem. Public utility vehicle drivers in Cebu still don't quite understand the purpose of dividing roads into lanes and why there are junction boxes. That's why even the wides roads in Cebu are still suffering from traffic jams. Now they're going to put those drivers into bigger public utility vehicles?

What Cebu needs is a better road infrastructure and better traffic law enforcement. We have too many idiots in blue going around standing, flailing their arms about, and issuing tickets that mean nothing.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you

for me this is really good but they have do something about undisciplined drivers first or get rid of them for good. a stiff policy of getting drivers license would have been nice also. roads will never be safe and orderly with rude, reckless, undsiciplined and unsafe drivers around.

IMO, jeepneys should be slowly eradicated and be replaced with buses and tricycles be replaced with multi-cabs for interior roads.

an MRT system for passengers from Carcar to Danao city and train system for cargo, harvests, from Bogo in the north and Oslob in the south.

Yup, actually bai mao jud na ang plano. Chairman Rogelio Osmeña himself said about it during the Kapamilya Forum in SM City which was about the buses.

Although mag-kinahanglan pa ta sa additional infrastructure in order to fully implement it (like a dedicated bus lane and a bus stop).

There's a chance bro that the number of undisciplined drivers will be reduced with the buses. Why? Because the bus drivers will be paid with a fixed salary and not by the number of passengers they will get. Unlike in jeepneys, wherein they have to do everything they can just to get a lot of passengers (like stopping on no-stop zones, etc.)

I'm not sure lang ha if the bus drivers that we have right now are paid with a fixed salary or what.

Ato-ang sabton nga one of the reasons ngano wala'y disciplina ang mga jeepney drivers (and even taxi drivers) is because they are constantly looking for passengers. If they have no passengers, then they have no money for the day.

Kung ako ang bus driver tapos I'm paid with a fixed salary, there's no reason for me to pick up passengers in a "no-stop" zone. Who cares naman, after all, I'm paid with a fixed salary, with or without a passenger. Hehehe..

I am very happy for this development. They also told me that sooner or later they will start issuing RFID cards for issuing fares, no need to bring coins or money. Just tap in when entering the bus and tap out during disembarking. Already i've heard people from the pinoys who works from the smart cards here in Singapore na they've been hearing this from Cebu. This is the same scenario that exists in Singapore, convinient kaayo.

Kanang designated bus stops. Mutuman ra ang mga tawo ana, basta ipatuman lang ang bala-od.

This is a positive development for Cebu.
