EPSON challenges you to go beyond the boundaries of capturing a wondrous
landscape or that perfect smile.
Let your viewfinder, lens and imagination produce an original work of
art that
will be immortalized, as 200 SELECTED FINALISTS WILL BE FEATURED ON
THE EPix COFFEETABLE BOOK.

Open to all photographers, both enthusiast and professional.
Participants are
given a choice of two categories:
- Imaginative Landscape
-Imaginative Human Interest
Prizes are as follows:
Professional Division Enthusiast Division
1st Prize - Php 50,000 1st Prize - Php 25,000
2nd Prize - Php 35,000 2nd Prize - Php 15,000
3rd Prize - Php 20,000 3rd Prize - Php 10,000
All 12 major winners will receive an Epson photo printer and a copy of the
EPix Coffeetable Book, with the introduction from the award-winning art
critic
Mr. Cid Reyes.

EPix 05 Rules and Regulation
Please take time to read through for your guidance. Epson will be firm in
imposing these rules and regulations. Failure to comply will result to
disqualification.
Open to all enthusiasts and professional photographers.
Employees of Epson Philippines Corporation and OneWorkshop, Inc., its
affiliated or subsidiary Companies, or members of the employee's immediate
family and/or those living in the same household are NOT eligible to join.
The competition is divided into two divisions; Enthusiast and Professional.
Participants under 18 years of age must submit a letter of consent from
their
parent or guardian.
The EPix Categories
Participants may submit two (2) entries per category.
Imaginative Landscape
All entries should be of outdoor theme, colored or black and white
photos are
acceptable. Images with people as primary subject matter will not be
considered.
Imaginative Human Interest
All entries should be of themes with people as the main subject, colored or
black and white photos are acceptable.
Digital or Film Entry
Participants may use Digital or Film-Based cameras, provided that the photo
entry will be printed on any Epson Inkjet printer and on glossy,
semi-gloss or
matte photo paper only. The entries should be submitted in the following
format:
Enthusiast Division: 8.5" X 11"
Professional Division: 11" X 17"
Landscape or portrait orientation is acceptable. Borders are optional, but
should not exceed one inch (1") on all sides.
Creative Effects without Manual or Digital Retouching
Printed output that is manually retouched and/or painted over is not
allowed.
Likewise, photos that are digitally retouched using various image editing
software is also unacceptable. However creative effects done in-camera at
the time of exposure, such as multiple exposures, flash fill, lighting,
filtration,
etc. are allowed.
The name of the participant should not appear at the face of the entry.
All entries will undergo preliminary screening before final judging. The
decision of the judges will be final.
Selected 200 entries will be required by Epson to submit the original
film or
digital file (at the file's original resolution) for evaluation and for
the publishing
of EPix Coffeetable book.
Where to Submit your Entries
Each entry should be submitted in an envelope with an EPix Entry form
attached at the back of the entry. There should only be one entry per
envelope.

Fame and Fortune for the Winners
First Prize winners for both divisions will receive an artist trophy, while
Second and Third Prize winners for both divisions will each receive a
plaque.
Major winners will also receive the following prizes:

2nd Prize - Php 15,000 and
EPSON photo printer
3rd Prize - Php 10,000 and
EPSON photo printer
Professional Division
1st Prize - Php 50,000 and

Two hundred (200) finalists will be selected among the entries and will be
given a certificate of merit.
Aside from the cash prizes, the winners and 200 finalists will be
featured in
the EPix COFFEETABLE BOOK to be launched on the awards night.
All prizes will be given during the awards night presentation on October
21,
2005, at a selected venue.
The top 200 entries shall become theproperty of Epson Philippines
Corporation. Epson will have full rights to reproduce, exhibit or
publish the
images for whatever purpose. Epson may display the prints in a public venue
or publish the prints for the purpose of promoting the competition or
any by-
product event arising from the competition without financial
compensation to
the photographers.
Entries not selected as finalists will remain the property of the owner.
They may be retrieved from OneWorkshop, Inc. office starting September 15,
2005 for the Metro Manila entries. Provincial non-winning entries will be
shipped back to their respective receiving stations after the screening.
Entries
not claimed a month after the deadline will automatically become the
property
of Epson Philippines Corporation who may dispose of it in a manner deemed
appropriate.
Epson Philippines Corporation, OneWorkshop, Inc., and its provincial
receiving stations will not be responsible for any damage or loss of any
entry,
although due care and precaution will be undertaken to ensure its safety.
