Question GSIS' take over on Car Insurances: Uyon ba mo?

GSIS set to monopolize car insurance (CTPL)

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is set to monopolize the 3.5-billion peso motor vehicle insurance business after a Makati court has dismissed a petition by local insurers to stop a Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) plan to integrate compulsory third party liability (CTPL) insurance policies into the vehicle registration process.

Under the plan, the GSIS, through publicly held National Reinsurance Corp. of the Philippines, would provide insurance coverage for all vehicle owners. “Registrants will only have to go to the LTO instead of dealing with 120 or more insurance companies. It will also eliminate fixers,” said GSIS president Winston Garcia. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is expected to implement the system in two weeks. Meanwhile, 60,000 insurance agents are expected to lose their jobs once this is implemented.

as I understand di man ni compulsory.

CTPL - Compulsory Third Party Liability

this one is optional: On Damage (OD) insurance

kung ing ani na ang CTPL, mas barato pa, mas wa pa gyuy hasol ky automatic na sa LTO kuhaon when u renew your car's registration. at present we pay around P900 plus for a car's CTPL. with this new system, it will now be P575 only. mawagtang pud ang overpricing being done by private insurers.

usa pud, wala nay bogus insurance agents. other than that, fixers will be minimized.

KUNG WALAY MAGPA FIX, WALAY FIXER.

that article saying 60,000 insurance agents will lose their jobs is misleading. we only have about 10,000 agents in the country. so sa ato pa ang uban, BOGUS diay...haha

yup agree pod kaayo ko ani...

nindot pod ang gipang offer sa GSIS nga coverage sa insurance. way better sa gi offer sa old one.

basta dili lang i-halad adto sa Malacañang ang kwarta, wa ni problema.. Approve!

btaw...kanang mga naa sa daplin daplin maka duda man gyud kung tinuod ba na cla or bogus.

i even heard a rumor nga in some instances, 1 insurance policy is being shared by 2 or 3 car owners w/o them knowing it. that's illegal. anha ra man nimo mahibaw-an ang binuang gud kng madisgrasya na ka.
