Police: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson attacked at train station

LONDON (AP) -- Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was attacked at a London train station and sustained injuries to his leg, British Transport Police said.

Ferguson was assaulted at Euston Station in London on Monday afternoon after he had traveled from Manchester. BTP, responsible for dealing with crime on the train services, issued a statement confirming the alleged attack and said the Red Devils manager was not badly hurt.

He was able to continue to an charity event for victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States.

Police said a 40-year-old man had been charged with assault. In line with policy, the man was not identified.
