This statement is still subject for discussion or argument.
If you say you believed in God, the next question is.
How do you believed in God, by mouth/words or by actions/works.

Because its easy to say that I believed in God but it doesn't manifest.
Unlike saying I don't believed in God is just directly not doing what God in the bible saying or rather
question it or doubt about it.

But one thing for sure if they will just admit, if they are in danger or if someone point a gun/knife on them they will call to God and ask for salvation.

People believed that they believed in God but in reality their God is different from the God in the bible.

Here's some example (according to the bible):
1. 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.).
Philippians 3:19
They will follow their belly, they don't want to be hunger.
They will follow their appetite rather than God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and most of all the Father of Christ.

2. 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 4:4.

3. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
