need help for bandmaster installation

apparently, i am not really the only one with problems installing bandmaster. although some just downloaded and installed, patched and played, some also download, install and curse like there's no tomorrow because the installer didn't work properly or something.

if there is anyone out there who was had problems, post it here. anyone who had problems but was able to fix it and play, please, post it here.

a step by step procedure would be ideal.
