JOB Responsibilities
You will be instrumental in setting up a DevOps team and setting up best practices as we scale worldwide:
· Take personal responsibility for the availability and reliability of our platform and services
· You will help design and implement the roadmap on Capacity Planning, Monitoring, Scaling, Infrastructure, System Architecture (Cloud), Internationalization, Code deployment, Release planning
· Provide leadership for a distributed team of engineers to perform incident management and root cause analysis, and resolve complex system problems—whether in code or in infrastructure
· Evaluate new DevOps tools and technologies to identify critical issues proactively and auto correct systems.
· Lead, architect, Develop and enhance system and application management tools and processes that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency
· Work with the software engineering teams to ensure systems are developed to support operational requirements
· Build out a DevOps team that you're excited about leading, then mentor your team members to help them grow
· Coordinate 24x7 on call rotation and issue escalation process
· Maintain internal knowledge base & documentation
· Anticipate customers’ needs and propose business solutions

REQUIREMENTS
You must be experienced, eager to learn, and want to become proficient in new skills, technologies, and scripting languages.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum of 3 years deploying distributed applications and a general awareness of DevOps best practices
• Significant experience with Linux/UNIX fundamentals including kernel subsystems, system calls, process/resource management and file systemsExperience with databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge of version control systems and defining the release and deployment processes
• Knowledge of DevOps/cloud orchestration tools such as Salt/Puppet/Chef/Ansible
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Nagios/Icinga/NewRelic/Cacti/Graphite/MRTG/Munin
• Knowledge of big data and log management tools (Splunk/Scalyr/Graylog2/Solr/ElastiSearch) or similar
• Familiarity with computer security principles such as network and application security
• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills

Desirable:

• Experience building cloud infrastructure using technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Rackspace Cloud/Google Compute/CloudStack/OpenStack/Eucalyptus/OpenNebula.
• Experience with Core Networking Technologies (DNS, DHCP, IPv4, VLANs, Switching & Routing)
• Experience with Cloud Storage such as AWS S3 and EBS
• Experience with Telecom (SMS & Voice) and Asterisk PBS/FreeSWITCH
• Experience auto-scaling applications in the cloud across multiple regions
• Experience Tuning databases (SQL and NoSQL both) and application (Java, Python, JS) performance
• Programming Experience, especially Web technologies (HTML5, JQuery, AJAX, JSON)
• Startup/Freelancing experience
