Ga4 has thicker wires compared to ga8

So thicker wires has the more current pass through...

obviously ga4 produces more advantage than ga8...

    Hope this helps...

Gauge 8 is already a heavy gauge wire. this is the wire gauge for most ground connections of new cars, i.e. 1990s and up.

why would you use an 4 gauge one? this is the wire used for welding 300 amps ! a car's starter which is the heaviest user in terms of current or amperes would be no more than 60 amps

the 8 gauge wire is about P 100 per meter! I don't know about the 4 gauge wire!

to answer you directly and simply, the difference between gauge4(guage rating) and guage8(guage rating) is the girth/thickness of the cable. the lower the number of the cable the thicker it gets. depends on the manufacturer and sometimes also the purpose of the cable, some same gauge cables are harder than others.

difference is: softer power cables with no regard to gauge rating use finer to finest intertwined copper wires. The opposite still with no regard to gauge rating use fine to thick intertwine/interlooped copper wires.

sometimes some car power/audio cables are made with stranded copper wires but those come out really hard cable wires already.(we are still in the realm of car wires and cables).

i am no expert ha. pero sa akoa lang, i don't see the need for using gauge 4 and gauge 0 wire-cables for power in car audio.

gauge 8 is, it think, already appropriate.

do correct me if i am wrong.

also, i noticed the thread maker asked if better sound flow ang gauge 4? so speaker wire application nimo ang gauge 4 or gauge 8?

hmmmm i believe gauge 8 power cable/wire (rubber coating, copper intertwine fine wires) is already so much your speaker can ask for.

still, a reminder, i am no expert but been doing car audio myself on a personal capacity for sometime.
gauge 8 cable/wire is like the entire width of NLEX(luzon) only for the use of your SUV. (nlex being the gauge 8 cable/wire and the SUV the electric current/audio going towards your speaker from any source be it head unit alone or from an amp).

by the way, the coating of these cable/wires is not plastic nor rubber it is a type of Enamel that is used.
