Who has tried ordering from Dell?

The title says it. Im planning to order from Dell website, I just dont have any idea if the tax would be blown out of proportions. Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

honestly you might have problem in importing the items into the philippines, if number of items are "many" better buy from local supplier, you get local support also. if you are buying for a corporate biz i might be able to help you, hehehe

@ carlou: I plan to order just one item for personal use. I dont quite see a local supplier of Dell in the Phils. If there are, Im sure the price is a lot more expensive. In fact in Villman, theyre selling the Ultrasharps at P20-P40K difference from the original price

i let a friend purchase online a dell batt in new york, when he come home i pay him in pesos,now i used the batt when there are browouts in our area......

are you in the us ferds? order nako nila ka daghan na pretty good and very fast shipping. dunno if they ship internationally tho.

if they ship international, then you'd better have a contact wherever its gonna land here, or else if you're lucky, the guys at customs are gonna drool over it and you're gonna have to pay through your nose or just leave the monitor with them...

depends on how you're gonna ship and how big the parcel is, i guess... i ordered 35k worth of stuff from victoria's secret before, and i was lucky enough to ship the order in three smaller parcels than one big one... my sister in law made the mistake of ordering one big shipment, and customs asked for an exorbitant amount of tax, so she ended up never picking it up, and my guess is some lucky customs collector's wife is doin the nasty with some nice lingerie... heheheh

im planning to buy $1.5k worth of stuff from newegg next month (monitor included), but i'm having a friend bring it home in a balikbayan box... if you have the means to do the same it might be better...

ouch yup experience na sad nako ang customs, sometimes they tax you nearly the same amount of value for the shipment :P
