my opinion is, because of the atmosphere in the galaxy. try to imagine kung circular/spherical and planets mas dugay sila mo revolve sa sun so that means mas dugay mahuman ang year.

There is no atmosphere "in the galaxy". Atmospheres only materialize on celestial bodies with enough mass and sufficient material. This includes decent size planets like the Earth up to stars like the Sun.

Planets are spherical because of physics. The formation of planets is not a mystery to science. Once material starts gathering to begin the creation of a planet, gravity takes hold, the planet starts to rotate, and you have a sphere. A sphere is the most compact form in nature. That is why drops of water on plants when seen up close are spheres. That is why bubbles are spheres. Laws that manage the very smal(bubbles) also manage the very large(planets). This of course doesn't work when you talk about things on the atomic level ... where the laws of gravity do not work, and quantum mechanics have jurisdiction.
