Post Update: Final details for this can be found at https://www.istorya.net/forums/progra...ngton-usa.html
Hi to all Cebu programmers.
Do you need help landing your next exciting programming assignment, whether here or abroad? We have something that can help.
A software engineering company from Washington, USA is interested to conduct a teaching seminar in Cebu for programmers. The speaker will be someone who has worked with both Microsoft and Intel in the United States.
Before they finalize the training details, they want to know if you are interested to participate. Here are the teaching seminar details:
TITLE: Software Design Patterns
ABOUT: Software Design Patterns help you write much better software. It doesn't matter which language you use; as long as it is object-oriented, you can apply Design Patterns in your programming trade. Until now, even with Object-Oriented Programming, software systems built using traditional design principles are "brittle" and prone to fail if changed. Design Patterns are pre-determined patterns that have been found to result in more modifiable designs, much easier to maintain and modify.
BENEFITS: Learning software design patterns increases your skillset by at least three-fold and greatly increases your appeal to foreign clients and large companies. It also helps further your career advancement here in the Philippines.
COURSE OUTLINE:
Morning
1. What are Design Patterns? Philosophical underpinnings.
2. The Vocabulary of Design Patterns (cohesion vs. coupling, inheritance vs. aggregation, etc.)
3. A Design Example ( the differences between a bad design and a good one)
4. A couple of useful creational patterns: Factory Method and Singleton patterns.
Lunch
Afternoon
5. Three useful structural patterns : Façade , Adapter and Bridge patterns.
6. A couple of useful behavioral patterns: Iterator and Strategy patterns.
7. Threading and concurrent patterns.
End
OTHER INFO: Target venue is Parklane Hotel or another business hotel within Cebu City. The course will be for 1 day, inclusive of lunch, snacks, and training materials. Target date is mid-June 2012.
FEE: The company is planning to price the training between Php3,500.00 to Php4,000.00 only as an introductory price for its first training course here in the Philippines. (They charge way more in the US.)
QUESTION FOR YOU: Is this something you (or other programmers) are interested in? Would you want to participate in the training seminar?
Your thoughts will be highly appreciated. Thanks so much!
