HELP, ANYONE who knows a lot about camera HOT SHOE FLASH units

Help!

i just bought a Suntax Thyristor 9800T flash for my cam. When i bought it last saturday (July 21), and had it tested in FujiFilm shop in SM, it was still working. When we brought it home and tested it, it still works. I only used it on that day until my rechargeable batteries ran out of power. When i opened the box and tried it again on wednesday night, it wont fire anymore.

tried it with all my batteries and even bought a new set of energizer alkaline batteries but still failed.

When i switch it on, i can hear a soft, high-pictched sound (i think that's normal for flash), but the ready light wont turn on and no flash light is emitted. hahaaaay...

bsin kulang nag power imo batteries gigamit bai. in ana man to sa ako migo sauna basta taman ra gni ug tingog ang soud alisdan namo ug bag o na bat mogana na man...

try to check what type of battery was installled when you bought it, you might need a hi mAmp rating for that flash unit

my technician friend opened my flash already. we found out that one of the capacitors inside is already busted. it leaked due to old age already. hahaaaay, im still looking for 300micro farad/600v na capacitor.
