try to find the source of the ants and attack them there. it takes a lot of patience (and you might feel silly) tracking down where the ants are coming from. since they bite i assume they are some kind of red ants, and this type tend to follow each other in paths. that's how we got rid of all the ants in the house we are renting. as in if you watched us following where they were coming from you would think we were crazy. but we are practically ant-free.

sorry to say, we used baygon (follow instructions on the can/packaging ha). like don't stay in the same room after you've sprayed. you don't need to spray the whole room, just where the ants are coming through. we also used this insecticide chalk (small yellow box, sold in same part of supermarke as baygon).

check where your mom is sitting/lying down. keep them free-standing if possible--keep away from walls and other furniture so the ants don't cross from there. draw insecticide chalk around the feet of the bed/chair so the ants cannot climb from there.

watch out for crumbs and left-over food, even if they are not sweet. always clean up well after feeding/eating.

also check with your mom's doctor on what they can recommend.

i have tried all of the above. the most effective na PREVENTION is the chalk in my opinion. bahala na if napuno ng white lines ang walls and floor ninyo basta yun ang effective for me.

now since there is already an infestation... try to find the source as one said and then attack them viciously. if dili ma-move ang inyo mom para ma-sprayhan ng baygon.... then just use my favorite concoction... bleach + soapy water in a spray bottle. even an empty alcohol bottle.

kapag wala na... use the chalk generously.

we are so sorry about the situation of your mom. remember that GOD IS NEVER SHORT ON MIRACLES.

The first thing to do is not necessarily to know where the ants came from, you can't possibly eradicate them because their nest is way beyond your reach. You might be able to kill the ants that you see but there's an endless supply underground.

Follow these steps:

1. Change the bed sheet with a white cloth with no floral decorations para dali ra nimo makita ang humigas nga naa sa katre.

2. Move the bed at least six inches from the wall para ma-isolate nimo ang source. Always check nga walay unlan or habol or anything nga nag-touch sa wall mao nay ilang himoon nga bridge. Ayaw pasagdi nga ang habol masangyad sa sawog (floor).

3. I assume that the bed rests on four legs. Put each leg in a small dish filled with water para dili na makasaka ang ants sa katre. Kung dili pwede ang small dish, rub the four legs with grease or motor oil para madiscourage ang ants nga mosaka.

4. Try to trace if there are still anything or any object nga magamit sa ants pag-access sa bed. Kung naka-dextrose ang patient tan-awa kung naa ba moagi ang mga humigas sa stand sa dextrose.

5. And lastly, ayaw pagtagak tagak ug food particles sa katre nga maka-attract sa ants.

With these methods, bisan pa magbaha ang humigas sa kwarto (if ever di nimo ma-control) but at least di na sila makasaka sa katre. In other words, you can't stop the rain but you can easily patch the hole in the roof.
