I'm using WD purple 10tb as external hard drive

Guys, I know that its not advisable to use WD purple for desktop use. But I just bought it from a certain foreigner on olx. He originally posted it for 13.5k but i haggled it for 7k and he agreed. He said he just bought it for 22k originally and he just changed his mind coz its became expendable for him considering he has two 10tb already.

The reason why i bought it coz its just too low for the said price. Now, I successfully mount this 10tb with intenso brand external enclosure. In fairness, the drive is perfect. it has total running hours of just 14 days and it's 100% health.

My question is, did i make the right decision to convert that 10tb wd purple into external hard drive? I'm worried that maybe its not suitable for storage purposes. Dili kaha ni maguba dayon kay gigamit nako as external? coz its supposed to be Surveillance hard drive.

Sir, on paper okay raman jd. mugana jd na sha although i wouldnt recommend lang ana. kay sa ako lang nahibaw.an kay lahi man gd silag purposes jd, sequential read and writes man gd ang purpose sa surveillance drives nya random read and writes man sa pc/desktop hdd nya naa puy issue sa voltage pd na ginagamit sa pc which is much higher kaysa sa ginagamit sa surveillance drives so itry ug push down sa drive ang voltage nya vasin failing that it could wear out its health. mao rapd na akong nahibaw.an sir although that is when you mount the surveillance drive sa PC. d pd ko sure if the same principle ra if himuon shag external drive pero i reckon pareho ra. d lang ko sure kaayu. akong recommendation, gamita lang. just make sure nga naa kay backup storage sa imong important kaayu nga files kay if simbako mu.fail ang drive atleast naa kay backup.
